Road Safety Message Echoes Through Laughter at Humorous Poetry Event in Udaipur

Udaipur: As part of the Road Safety Month celebrations marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a unique Road Safety Humorous Poetry Symposium (Hasya Kavi Sammelan) was organized on Sunday at Ashoka Green, Shobhagpura, jointly by Udaipur Police, Aadhar Foundation, and Business Circle International (BCI). The event creatively combined humor, satire, songs, and poetry to spread awareness about road safety and traffic rules. The audience enjoyed hearty laughter while also absorbing important messages related to safe driving practices.

Dignitaries present on the occasion included Ashok Anjana (Deputy Superintendent, Traffic), Tina Solanki (Traffic Inspector), Hemant Kumar Sharma (Chief Manager, Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation, Udaipur Depot), and Ashok Jain from Aadhar Foundation.

Speakers emphasized that laws alone are not sufficient to prevent road accidents; public awareness plays an equally important role. They noted that messages delivered through literature and humor have a lasting impact on society.

Narayan Lal Chaudhary of Aadhar Foundation stated that road safety is the responsibility of every citizen. He said that adherence to helmet use, seat belts, and traffic signals can prevent numerous accidents, and that such creative programs play a key role in bringing positive behavioral change in society.

Mukesh Madhwani, Founder and Chairman of BCI, said that road safety is not just about rules but about protecting human life. He added that when awareness messages are delivered through humor and poetry, they directly reach people’s hearts. He also expressed gratitude to Udaipur Police and Aadhar Foundation for organizing the innovative event.

Poet Manoj Gurjar from Mavli entertained the audience with witty verses, Mewari-language comedy, and humorous presentations. His patriotic poetry filled the atmosphere with enthusiasm, while his satirical take on road safety highlighted the dangers of mobile phone use while driving, speeding, and violating traffic rules. His performance received continuous applause and laughter.

International poet Ayushi Rachecha from Jodhpur captivated the audience with her humorous presentations and engaging style. Through short jokes and creative expressions, she created a cheerful atmosphere while also spreading awareness about traffic rules. She further energized the audience with her heroic poetry based on Rajasthani and Mewari valor, along with poems reflecting beauty and sensitive emotions.

Humor lyricist Lokesh Mahakali presented songs based on road safety themes with a unique artistic style. His compositions combined entertainment with strong social messages, emphasizing that helmets and seat belts are not just rules but life-saving shields.

Throughout the event, poets unanimously conveyed that caution on the road is the greatest guarantee of safety. They highlighted that by following traffic rules, individuals can protect not only their own lives but also those of others.

The audience actively participated throughout the program, thoroughly enjoying the blend of humor, satire, and meaningful messages. At the conclusion, attendees took a pledge to follow road safety rules and encourage others to do the same.

Organizers announced that similar public awareness programs will continue under the Road Safety Month initiative to promote a culture of safe and responsible driving in society.
