Udaipur. International Foundation for Environment and Ecology (IFEE), Kolkata conferred LifeTime Achievement Award 2026 to Dr. S. K. Verma, President, Society for Microvita Research and Integrated Medicine (SMRIM), Udaipur and working as Professor Emeritus, Dept. of Medicine at Pacific Medical College & Hospital, Udaipur, Rajasthan. This award was conferred to him during International Multidisciplinary Webinar on “Ecosystem- Based Adaptation: Working with Nature to Adapt to A Change Climate" held on 29-30th May 2026 in online mode.
Dr. Verma received this award for his extensive work on conservation of a medicinal plant Semal (Bombax ceiba) tree in Udaipur district, Rajasthan since 2006 with the team of SMRIM members through awareness talks, group discussion, paper presentations in Conferences and Seminars, publication of popular articles in magazines and newspapers, pamphlet distribution, social media, as well as through massive plantation of Semal tree saplings at various places in and around Udaipur city and also providing eco-friendly alternate of using Iron Holi-pole rather than Semal tree pole for Holika-Dahan festival since 2011. Semal tree has got a place among five important plants of Panchwati and also absorbs polluting toxic gases from the environment. Dr. Verma also published a First book solely devoted to the plant Semal and continuously supporting the Semal Conservation Mission.
Earlier Dr. Verma has also been conferred Life Time Achievement Award from different scientific bodies for his contribution in the field of holistic health, for research in general and medical research especially in the field of integrated medicine & Microvitology. This is his 7th LifeTime Achievement Award that shows his perseverance, devotion and interest in the field of medical research.
