One-Day District-Level Natural Farming Workshop Organized in Chittorgarh

Udaipur: A one-day district-level Natural Farming Workshop was organized on June 10, 2026, at the Indira Gandhi Auditorium, Chittorgarh, under the joint aegis of the Agriculture Department, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Chittorgarh, and IFFCO. The event witnessed the participation of around 1,500 farmers from across the district.

The workshop was attended by Member of Parliament Shri C.P. Joshi, Nimbahera MLA Shri Shrichand Kriplani, District Collector Dr. Manju Choudhary, natural farming expert Shri Pawan Tank, along with district-level officials and public representatives.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ratan Lal Solanki, Senior Scientist and Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, encouraged farmers to adopt sustainable agricultural practices to maintain soil fertility, conserve water resources, and ensure long-term agricultural productivity. He also provided detailed information about the agricultural exhibition organized by KVK, which showcased fruit plants, vegetable saplings, vermicompost, and vermiwash units. On the occasion, a farmer-oriented booklet titled “Natural Farming – Adopt Organic Manure and Free Yourself from Chemical Fertilizers” prepared by KVK scientists was formally released.

Natural farming expert Shri Pawan Tank elaborated on the fundamental principles and pillars of natural farming and motivated farmers to embrace chemical-free agricultural practices. Shri Shrichand Kriplani, MLA from Nimbahera, called upon farmers to pledge their commitment to adopting toxin-free natural farming methods.

Member of Parliament Shri C.P. Joshi urged farmers to adopt organic farming and highlighted the adverse effects of excessive chemical fertilizer use on soil health. District Collector Dr. Manju Choudhary discussed various dimensions of natural farming and encouraged farmers across the district to increasingly adopt organic and natural farming practices to enhance their income and improve agricultural sustainability.

Dr. Shankar Lal Jat, Joint Director of the Agriculture Department, addressed various agricultural issues, resolved farmers’ queries, and informed them about departmental schemes. He encouraged farmers to take advantage of initiatives such as the National Mission on Natural Farming and the Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana to promote natural farming in the region.

The district-level workshop also featured exhibitions showcasing products and innovations from various government departments and farmers. The program was conducted by Dr. Jogendra Singh Ranawat.
