Focus on Increasing Credit Flow to the Agriculture Sector and Achieving Government Scheme Targets

Udaipur: A meeting of the District-Level Review Committee (DLRC) of the Lead Bank Office, Udaipur, was held on Wednesday at the Zila Parishad Auditorium under the guidance of the District Collector and chaired by Additional District Collector Deependra Singh Rathore.

The meeting reviewed key banking indicators of the district, including deposits and advances, credit achievement under the priority sector, Credit-Deposit (CD) Ratio, agricultural lending, and the progress of loan applications under various Central and State Government-sponsored schemes.

At the outset, Lead District Manager Sanjay Gupta welcomed the participants and informed the committee that total bank deposits in the district increased from ₹48,603 crore in March 2025 to ₹53,354 crore in March 2026. Similarly, total advances rose from ₹37,494 crore in March 2025 to ₹42,789 crore in March 2026. He further stated that the district’s Credit-Deposit Ratio stood at 80.20 percent for the quarter ending March 2026 in the financial year 2025–26.

District Development Manager of NABARD, Neeraj Yadav, urged banks to enhance credit flow to the agriculture sector and achieve the prescribed target of 18 percent. While presenting details of the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund Scheme, he encouraged banks to finance eligible projects under the initiative. He also discussed the Pre-Potential Linked Plan (Pre-PLP) and requested banks and government departments to provide timely information for effective planning and implementation.

Reserve Bank of India’s Lead District Officer Rajiv Choudhary directed all banks to improve the Credit-Deposit Ratio, increase lending to the agriculture sector, and ensure the achievement of 100 percent targets under various government-sponsored schemes.

The meeting was attended by representatives of all banks operating in the district, officials from various government departments, and Lead Bank officials including Hemraj Sonwal and Naveen Atre.
