Tourism is a Medium for Social Harmony and Economic Growth, Says Vice-Chancellor Nimit Ranjan
Kota, A book titled “Dr. Prabhat Kumar Singhal: A Distinguished Signature in Art, Culture and Tourism Literature” was formally released on Thursday by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nimit Ranjan of the Rajasthan Technical University at his chamber in Kota. The book has been authored by noted Delhi-based litterateur and columnist Lalit Garg.
Welcoming the Vice-Chancellor with a traditional shawl, Dr. Prabhat Kumar Singhal shared details about his literary contributions. He informed that he has authored and co-authored 35 books focusing on art, culture, tourism, history, and archaeology in the context of Rajasthan, India, and the world. According to Dr. Singhal, all the books are based on extensive research, and the newly released volume is a critical appreciation of his work by Lalit Garg.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Nimit Ranjan emphasized the social and economic significance of tourism. He stated that tourism is a natural part of human life and serves as an important medium for fostering social harmony while contributing to economic development. He noted that travel invariably brings positive changes to individuals and societies.
The Vice-Chancellor further remarked that everyone is a traveler at some stage and stressed the importance of educating and training people to become responsible tourists. He advocated a tourism development model that focuses not only on the supply side but also on increasing demand, ensuring that the benefits of tourism reach all sections of society. Appreciating Dr. Singhal’s efforts, he described his tourism-related publications as valuable research resources that contribute significantly to the development of the tourism sector.
Story writer and critic Vijay Joshi observed that the publication stands as evidence that sincere and dedicated work ultimately receives recognition and critical evaluation. He highlighted that the editorial section of the book contains an extensive essay by Lalit Garg titled “Dr. Prabhat Kumar Singhal: A Distinguished Signature in Art, Culture and Tourism Literature.” The creative section, he added, presents selected excerpts from Dr. Singhal’s books, showcasing the depth and impact of his literary work.
Children’s literature writer Jitendra Gaur was also present during the release ceremony.
