NCC is a Powerful Instrument of Nation Building, Fostering Leadership and Discipline Among Youth: Air Commodore S.K. Anand

Udaipur: The Pre Vayu Sainik Camp-I, Drone Training Camp, and Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC), being organized under the aegis of the NCC Directorate Rajasthan at the College of Technology and Engineering (CTAE), a constituent college of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur, are progressing successfully.

On the second day of the camp, a special program was held at the AVP Auditorium of CTAE College. The event was attended by Deputy Director General, NCC Rajasthan Directorate, Air Commodore S.K. Anand, NCC Director Rajasthan Colonel Raghvendra Kumar, and Camp Commanding Officer Wing Commander Natraj Dagur.

Addressing the cadets, Air Commodore S.K. Anand stated that the National Cadet Corps is not merely an organization but a powerful instrument of nation-building. He emphasized that NCC instills discipline, leadership qualities, self-confidence, time management skills, teamwork, and a spirit of national service among youth. He noted that young people today face numerous challenges, which can only be overcome through strong character, positive thinking, and a deep sense of patriotism.

Air Commodore Anand highlighted that India is a land of immense diversity, encompassing various religions, languages, cultures, and traditions. Despite these differences, the nation’s greatest strength lies in its unity. He urged cadets to rise above barriers of caste, religion, region, and language, and place national interest above all else. He encouraged them to play an active role in promoting harmony, brotherhood, and national integration within society. He further stressed that safeguarding India’s sovereignty, integrity, and security requires every citizen to be aware, responsible, and committed.

In his address, Air Commodore Anand also elaborated on the functioning and significance of the Air Wing, Army Wing, and Naval Wing of the NCC. He explained that NCC provides cadets with foundational exposure to military life, inspiring many to pursue careers in the armed forces. He added that NCC training not only prepares youth for defence services but also helps them become successful and responsible citizens in every sphere of life.

During the program, Camp Commanding Officer Wing Commander Natraj Dagur presented a detailed overview of the camp’s activities and objectives. He informed attendees that nearly 600 cadets from various groups under the Rajasthan Directorate are participating in the camp being conducted at the CTAE campus. The simultaneous organization of the Pre Vayu Sainik Camp-I, Drone Training Camp, and Combined Annual Training Camp offers cadets a unique opportunity to receive diverse forms of training.

Addressing the cadets, Wing Commander Dagur stated that NCC training develops self-confidence, discipline, and leadership abilities. Working with limited resources, overcoming difficult situations, and achieving goals through teamwork are among the key features of NCC training. He remarked that NCC cadets serve as role models for society and the nation through their conduct and dedication.

NCC Director Rajasthan Colonel Raghvendra Kumar also motivated the cadets and encouraged them to make the most of the training camp. He observed that such camps play a vital role in the holistic development of young people and provide experiences that remain valuable throughout life.

At the conclusion of the program, the dignitaries appreciated the arrangements made for the camp and commended the cadets for their enthusiasm, discipline, and active participation. The event was attended by camp officers, Air Wing personnel, Caretaker Officers, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), PI Staff, and a large number of NCC cadets.
