Divisional Commissioner Visits Summer Lacrosse Training Camp, Encourages Players

Udaipur: Divisional Commissioner of Udaipur and lacrosse promoter Pragya Kevalramani visited the Summer Lacrosse Training Camp being held at Maharana Pratap Sports Village. The camp is being organized jointly by the Rajasthan Lacrosse Association, Tribal Area Development Department, Udaipur Administration, and is financially supported by Rajasthan Mines and Minerals Limited (RMML) to prepare athletes for upcoming national and international competitions.

During her visit, the Divisional Commissioner interacted with the players undergoing training and motivated them to remain dedicated, disciplined, and committed to the sport. She emphasized that continuous hard work and a positive mindset are the keys to achieving excellence and bringing pride to Udaipur, the tribal region, and the nation at both national and international levels.

Extending her best wishes for the upcoming competitions, she stated that the Rajasthan Government is continuously working to promote sports talent and that athletes should make the best use of the facilities being provided to elevate their performance to new heights.

The camp, conducted under the guidance of coach Neeraj Batra, has attracted several prominent players from across the country. Participants include Sunita Meena, Captain of the Indian Women's Lacrosse Team; Mohanlal Gameti, Captain of the Rajasthan Police Lacrosse Team; international gold medalists Khumaram Gameti, Dayashankar Gameti, Narayanlal Gameti, Nishant Nagda, Pranay Tripathi, Jula Kumari Gurjar, Meera Dauja, Dali Gameti, Vishakha Meghwal, Yashishtha Batra, Yashoda Gameti, Roshni Bose, Janvi Rathore, and several other national and international-level athletes.

On the occasion, the Divisional Commissioner also reviewed the arrangements related to India's first Lacrosse Academy, which is being established under the Rajasthan Government's budget announcement. She inspected the Centre of Excellence Multipurpose Hostel located in Chitrakoot Nagar, which will provide residential facilities for athletes, and issued necessary directions to officials.

She further inspected the construction progress of the state-of-the-art lacrosse ground being developed by the Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) and directed officials to ensure quality construction and timely completion of the project.

She remarked that significant efforts are being made to establish Udaipur as a major hub for lacrosse in India. The country's first dedicated Lacrosse Academy will be a landmark achievement not only for Rajasthan but for the entire nation. It will provide talented players with advanced training, modern facilities, and greater opportunities to compete at national and international levels.

During the inspection, Additional Commissioner, Tribal Area Development Department Anil Sharma, along with Manmohan Singh, Ashu Maheshwari, Sanjeev Sharma, Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal, Madhu Shekhawat, Navratan Pal, and officials from various departments and sports enthusiasts were also present.
