ASMITA Khelo India Women’s Cycling City League Launched in Udaipur

Udaipur: The ASMITA Khelo India Women’s Cycling City League 2026 was inaugurated under the joint aegis of the Cycling Federation of India, Khelo India, and the Fit India Movement. The competition was organized on the route from Fateh Sagar Pal to Rajiv Gandhi Chowk.

The event was flagged off by former District Sports Officer Sunita Bhandari, Shailendra Pandya, Rekha Untwal, Yudhishthir Singh Gehlot, Vishal Rai, and Rajasthan Cycling Chairperson Sarika Chaudhary.

Event Convener Arun Joshi informed that the league is being conducted in nearly 200 cities across the country. As part of this series, girl and women cyclists participated enthusiastically and showcased their talent through outstanding performances.

Rajasthan Cycling Chairperson Sarika Chaudhary stated that the initiative has been launched to promote women’s health, fitness, and empowerment. She added that in the first phase, women’s cycling competitions will be organized in several cities across Rajasthan, including Dausa, Pratapgarh, and Udaipur.

The competition featured events in various categories, including Junior, Women’s Junior, Sub-Junior, and Road Ordinary events. Winners were awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals, while all participants received certificates of participation. A total of 18 medal winners across different categories were honored during the event.

The program successfully encouraged women’s sporting talent while spreading awareness about the Fit India Movement, women’s health, and women’s empowerment. The competition witnessed tremendous enthusiasm among athletes, parents, and sports enthusiasts.

On this occasion, former Additional Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations Arun Joshi, Kavita Joshi, Pooja Tailor, Shanu Jain, and several distinguished personalities from the fields of sports, education, and social service were present in large numbers.
