Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal Concludes Summer Training Camp

Udaipur: The month-long Summer Training Camp organized by Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal, Udaipur concluded with a colorful closing ceremony, where participants showcased their skills through captivating performances.

For the past 74 years, Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal has been actively promoting folk arts and providing training to the general public in various traditional art forms. Continuing this long-standing tradition, the institution organized its annual summer training camp this year as well.

The closing ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by distinguished guests, the institution’s Honorary Secretary, Satya Prakash Gaur, and the Director of the institution.

The cultural presentations began with a Saraswati Vandana performed by the folk dance participants. This was followed by vibrant Rajasthani folk dance performances on popular songs such as Meethe Ras Se Bhariyo Ri, Rang De Mane Oju, Jala Re Main To Jala Re, Chudi Chamke, O Luk Chhip Na Jao Ji, and Kaliyon Kud Padiyo Mela, among others.

Participants from the folk singing section then enthralled the audience with melodious renditions of traditional Rajasthani folk songs. Subsequently, trainees presented a short glove puppet play titled “The Harmful Effects of Social Media.” The play highlighted the negative impact of excessive social media usage on today's youth and aimed to create awareness among the public about the responsible and mindful use of social media platforms.

The program concluded with performances by the folk instrumental music participants, who played the harmonium and dholak while presenting devotional and folk melodies including Om Jai Jagdish Hare, Aao Ni Padharo Mhare Des, and Hare Rama Hare Krishna.

At the end of the ceremony, the distinguished guests and Honorary Secretary Satya Prakash Gaur distributed certificates of appreciation to all participants.

Institution Director Dr. Laiq Hussain expressed his gratitude to the guests, participants, and parents for their support and presence. He informed the audience that a total of 55 participants received training in folk dance, folk singing, folk instrumental music, and glove puppetry during this year’s Summer Folk Art Training Camp. He also stated that the institution would continue organizing similar training programs in the future.

Dr. Hussain further announced that the Presentation-Oriented Theatre Training Camp, which commenced on May 6, 2026, will conclude on June 17, 2026. On this occasion, participants will stage the play “Khela Polampur,” written by Mani Madhukar and directed by Dr. Laiq Hussain, at the Open-Air Theatre at 7:45 PM.
