Udaipur: Marking World Blood Donor Day 2026, the Blood Center of Geetanjali Medical College & Hospital organized a special felicitation ceremony to highlight the importance of voluntary blood donation and recognize the invaluable contribution of blood donors and social workers toward saving lives.
The event was attended by distinguished guests including Dean Dr. Sangeeta Gupta, CEO Rishi Kapoor, Medical Superintendent Dr. Harpreet Singh, CFO Roshan Jain, HR Head Dr. Rajeev Pandya, and Head of the Department of Pathology Dr. Geeta Mukhiya. Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries described blood donation as one of the noblest acts of service and encouraged young people to donate blood regularly to help those in need.
On the occasion, several regular blood donors and social workers were honoured with shawls, mementos, and certificates of appreciation for their outstanding contribution to humanitarian causes. Those felicitated included Ravindra Pal Singh (Kappu Ji), Kamlesh Acharya, Gopal Vijayvargiya, Prahlad Janwa, Mukesh Janwa, Mukesh Sharma, Islam Mohammad Sheikh, Mahesh Sahu, Devendra Ji, Pradyumn Singh, Kapil Sharma, Rohit Joshi, Rakesh Ji, and many others.
The successful organization of the event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Dr. Pooja Avchar, In-Charge and Medical Officer of the Blood Center, along with Blood Bank Supervisor Surendra Singh, technical staff members Sunil Rajak and Indrajeet Sharma, and the entire Blood Center team. The programme was efficiently conducted by Mrs. Pooja Tanwar.
Representatives of the Blood Center emphasized that voluntary blood donors play a crucial role in ensuring the availability of safe and adequate blood supplies for patients. World Blood Donor Day serves as an opportunity to express gratitude to these selfless individuals whose donations help save countless lives.
As part of the initiative, 75 voluntary blood donors donated blood, making the campaign a remarkable success. Their enthusiastic participation not only strengthened awareness about blood donation but also infused new energy into the noble cause of serving humanity through lifesaving contributions.
