Udaipur: In compliance with the directives of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) celebrated Passenger Facilitation Day with great enthusiasm at Maharana Pratap Airport, Dabok, Udaipur, on Monday.
The event commenced with a proud and patriotic atmosphere at the airport premises. Against the backdrop of the towering National Flag (Tiranga) outside the main terminal building, a grand collective rendition of Vande Mataram was organized. Under the leadership of Airport Director Sanwarmal Singaria, officials and employees of the Airports Authority of India, personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), airline representatives, ground handling staff, sanitation workers, and passengers present at the airport joined together in singing the national song with respect and pride.
Certificates of Appreciation Presented to Women Employees and Housekeeping Staff
During the event, housekeeping personnel who have made outstanding contributions to airport operations, cleanliness, and passenger services were honored with certificates of appreciation and incentive awards by Airport Director Sanwarmal Singaria and Sushila Singaria of Bhavipra Kalyanmayi. Women officers and employees from the Airports Authority of India, CISF, “May I Help You” Desk, and other partner agencies were also felicitated with certificates of appreciation by the Airport Director, representatives of Bhavipra Kalyanmayi, and Subhash Samota, Deputy Commandant of CISF.
The ceremony was attended by senior airport officials, CISF officers, airline station managers, and a large number of passengers, who applauded the contributions of these dedicated service providers.
Traditional Rajasthani Welcome for Passengers
Airport Director Singaria informed that passengers arriving at the airport were welcomed in traditional Mewari style with ceremonial tilak, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan. Domestic and international tourists were greeted warmly and presented with saplings as a message of environmental conservation. Food packets were also distributed to make their journey more comfortable.
To further enrich the passenger experience, the airport administration organized a range of cultural and traditional activities within the terminal premises, which became a major attraction for travelers.
Live Demonstrations of Molela Terracotta and Pottery Art
Live stalls showcasing Rajasthan’s renowned Molela Terracotta Art and traditional pottery craftsmanship were set up at the airport. Passengers had the opportunity to sit at the potter’s wheel and experience creating clay pots and artistic pieces themselves. In addition, a modern nail-art counter was arranged for women passengers and children, which received an enthusiastic response.
Travelers arriving and departing from the airport actively participated in these cultural activities. Several international tourists expressed admiration for Rajasthan’s traditional clay art and craftsmanship. Passengers appreciated the airport administration’s unique initiative, noting that such cultural experiences make their journeys truly memorable.
Free Health and Eye Check-Up Camps Organized
As part of its commitment to passenger welfare, the airport administration organized a large-scale free health check-up and eye examination camp within the terminal building. The camps were set up in the Departure Hall and Security Hold Area to allow passengers awaiting their flights to conveniently access healthcare services.
A team of specialist doctors conducted health screenings, including blood pressure, blood sugar level, and general health assessments. Hundreds of passengers benefited from the initiative and praised the airport administration for its thoughtful and passenger-friendly approach.
Tree Plantation Drive Promotes Sustainable Development
Reaffirming its commitment to passenger convenience and sustainable development, a tree plantation drive was also organized within the airport premises. Under the leadership of Airport Director Sanwarmal Singaria, CISF Deputy Commandant Subhash Samota, and Mirage Group Chairman Madan Paliwal, airport personnel planted various species of shade-giving and fruit-bearing trees in the terminal’s outer premises and green belt areas.
The event successfully combined passenger welfare, cultural promotion, environmental awareness, and community engagement, making Passenger Facilitation Day a memorable occasion for all stakeholders.
