Udaipur: Principal Secretary, Medical and Health Department, Ms. Gayatri Rathore, visited Udaipur on Tuesday and reviewed healthcare services in the region. During her visit, she inspected the Maharana Bhupal Government Hospital (MB Hospital), the largest government hospital in the Udaipur division, and assessed the quality of healthcare services being provided.
Ms. Rathore toured different wings and departments of the hospital to review medical services, cleanliness, availability of resources, and patient facilities. She interacted directly with admitted patients, inquired about their well-being, and sought feedback regarding the treatment and services being provided at the hospital.
She also obtained detailed information from hospital officials regarding the functioning of various departments and emphasized the need to maintain high standards of patient care and hospital management.
Subsequently, Ms. Rathore chaired a review meeting with officials and Heads of Departments at the conference hall of RNT Medical College. During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on various healthcare-related issues, including the status of the Women's Hospital and two newly under-construction buildings.
The meeting also focused on faculty upgradation, enhancement of medical research activities, and strengthening healthcare infrastructure. Ms. Rathore reviewed the services being provided at the Super Speciality Hospital and interacted with specialists from departments including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Pediatrics, and Preventive & Social Medicine (PSM). She sought feedback regarding available facilities and patient care services in their respective departments.
During the review meeting, officials informed the Principal Secretary that the transfer of a cardiac surgeon had left the post vacant, resulting in disruption of specialized cardiac services. Taking the matter seriously, Ms. Rathore directed the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to repost the specialist to the Cardiology Department in Udaipur so that heart patients can continue to receive uninterrupted expert medical care.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Rahul Jain, Principal of RNT Medical College; Dr. Ashok Aditya, Chief Medical and Health Officer; Dr. R.L. Suman, Superintendent of MB Hospital; along with departmental heads and other medical officers.
