####Maharana Pratap’s Inspiring Philosophy Remains Relevant Even Today: Dr. Pratap Singh

Udaipur, The Directorate of Student Welfare of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT) celebrated the 486th birth anniversary of the legendary warrior king Maharana Pratap with great devotion and enthusiasm on June 17, 2026. The program was organized in front of Maharana Pratap’s majestic equestrian statue located in the premises of the Rajasthan College of Agriculture.

The event was attended by the University Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Pratap Singh, as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Pushpendra Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the Agriculture University, Jobner, and Shri Gajendra Singh, Co-Organization Minister of the Indian Farmers Association, were present as Special Guests. University officials, deans, faculty members, non-teaching staff, employees, and students paid floral tributes and garlanded the statue of Maharana Pratap.

Welcoming the guests, Student Welfare Officer Dr. Manoj Mahla described Maharana Pratap as a timeless source of inspiration and urged students to imbibe his values and ideals in their lives.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Gajendra Singh said that Maharana Pratap was among the greatest heroes of Indian Sanatan culture and a symbol of freedom and self-respect. He emphasized that the enduring global influence of Indian culture is the result of the determination and sacrifices of such great personalities. Highlighting the importance of commitment and perseverance, he noted that success in modern times can also be achieved through a resolute approach.

Special Guest Dr. Pushpendra Singh described Maharana Pratap as a powerhouse of courage and determination. He underlined the continuing relevance of the ruler’s contributions and his deep connection with the common people, encouraging students to adopt his ideals in their personal and professional lives.

In his keynote address, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Pratap Singh stated that modern society faces numerous challenges and complexities. He said that Maharana Pratap’s life remains highly relevant today because his unwavering courage, resilience, and ideal conduct provide solutions to many contemporary problems. He described Maharana Pratap as both an exemplary ruler and a skilled warrior.

Dr. Pratap Singh also highlighted Maharana Pratap’s contribution to agricultural development. Referring to the ancient text Vishwavallabh, authored by Chakrapani during Maharana Pratap’s reign, he emphasized the significance of Mewar’s geographical, natural, and water-management systems. He stressed the need for further research based on this valuable work.

As part of the celebrations, the Chief Guest, Special Guests, and senior university officials planted saplings in the Rajasthan College of Agriculture campus, spreading a message of environmental conservation.

At the beginning of the program, NCC and Scout volunteers escorted the dignitaries to Maharana Pratap’s equestrian statue. The guests were welcomed with traditional shawls and bouquets by the Student Welfare Office.

Among those present were Director of Extension Education Dr. R. L. Soni, Dr. Lokesh Gupta, Dr. R. H. Meena, Dr. Virendra Singh, Dr. Vinod Yadav, heads of various departments, university officials, faculty members, representatives of the non-teaching employees’ association, staff members, and students.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. S. S. Lakhawat, while Ms. Shreya Bhatt conducted the proceedings.
