Udaipur: Gyan Mandir Samiti commenced its Diamond Jubilee celebrations with a grand series of events that reflected its six-decade-long commitment to education, social service and community development. The highlight of the occasion was the inauguration of a newly constructed hostel building, alongside the felicitation of distinguished donors, alumni and contributors who have played a significant role in the institution's journey.
The celebrations began at the Girls’ School campus in RIICO Industrial Area, Dhol Ki Pati, where the newly built hostel was inaugurated by chief guest Jasodaben Modi. Presiding over the ceremony, noted Mumbai-based industrialist and philanthropist Mahesh Bhai Gandhi praised the institution's continued efforts toward educational advancement. Addressing the gathering, Jasodaben Modi lauded Gyan Mandir Samiti's remarkable contribution to society over the past sixty years and described the hostel as a valuable resource for students from rural and tribal communities seeking quality education.
Following the inauguration, the process of selecting and nominating members to the executive committees of Gyan Mandir Samiti and the affiliated Satya (Sanyas Ashram) Samiti was completed, laying the foundation for the institution's next phase of growth.
The second phase of the celebrations was held at Gyan Mandir School in Hiran Magri Sector-4, where members of Swayam, the alumni council, participated in a special Sangam Samvad programme. Former students from diverse professions reminisced about their school days and expressed their commitment to supporting the institution's future initiatives.
An evening felicitation ceremony brought together generations of students, well-wishers and benefactors. The event was marked by inspiring addresses from the institution's founder Tikam Chand Asawara, vice presidents Jyotsna Sharma and Ashok Karwa, along with educationists and community leaders Pramod Jhavar, Dr. Kamal Kishore Porwal and Pradeep Panwar. Adding a spiritual dimension to the programme, Deepak Paliwal presented an insightful interpretation of verses from the Ramcharitmanas. The proceedings were conducted by Dr. Kunjan Acharya and Sangeeta Paliwal, while Leela Paliwal delivered the vote of thanks.
One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the recognition of several philanthropists whose generosity contributed to the development of the institution. Mukesh Bhansali, Shakuntala Jain, Kishanlal Kothari of Bengaluru, and Raichand Chhajed of Bengaluru were honoured for supporting the construction of rooms and the warden's quarters in the Hiran Magri school and hostel complex, strengthening the infrastructure available to students.
The institution also paid tribute to individuals whose contribution to the hostel's construction and architectural excellence left a lasting impact. The Gyan Vastu Kalashree Award was presented to Late Avinash Gupta, Late Upesh Trivedi, Deepenti Bhati and Vikram Paliwal in recognition of their dedication, craftsmanship and commitment to the project.
Celebrating the achievements of its former students, the Samiti conferred the prestigious Gyan Gaurav Award upon alumni who have distinguished themselves in their respective fields while upholding the values instilled by their alma mater. Among those honoured were Sunil Gang, Dilip Jaroli, Pramod Chaplot, Narendra Ameta, Vandana Mali, Deepak Talesara and Deepak Paliwal, each of whom was recognised for bringing pride to both the institution and society through their accomplishments.
