Environmental Awareness and Conservation Painting Competition Organized

Udaipur: With the objective of fostering environmental awareness and interest among children, Vigyan Samiti Udaipur organized a painting competition for school students. Through their artwork, participants creatively expressed their thoughts and concerns about the environment. The children also delivered brief presentations on various environmental issues, conveying messages aimed at raising public awareness.

Program Coordinator Avinash Bhatnagar informed that the competition was conducted in two age categories: 4–7 years and 8–12 years. All participating students, including the winners, were awarded prizes. Category-wise drawing kits worth ₹50, ₹80, ₹150, and ₹200 were distributed as rewards.

Reviewing the event, Media Coordinator Professor Vimal Sharma noted that although only about half of the registered participants in the 4–7 years category were able to attend, the long-term benefits of promoting cleanliness and environmental awareness from an early age are significant. He added that special transportation arrangements would be considered in future events to facilitate greater participation from younger children.

The students presented several commendable ideas for environmental conservation through their artistic creations. To make the event more engaging, Renu Bhandari introduced the participants to basic scientific concepts and conducted practical demonstrations at the Arya Bhatta Science Laboratory.

The certificate and prize distribution ceremony was attended by the President of Vigyan Samiti, Prof. Mahip Bhatnagar, General Secretary Dr. R. K. Garg, Chief Coordinator Dr. K. L. Kothari, along with other distinguished guests.
