Honorary Secretary Ashish Chhabra coordinated and conducted the proceedings of the event.

During the technical session, Ajit Shah delivered a comprehensive and insightful presentation on the import-export business. He stated that the current period offers immense opportunities for exporters, as India enjoys a highly positive image in the global market. He further noted that compared to many other countries, India has been relatively less affected by the adverse economic impacts arising from the ongoing geopolitical tensions involving the United States and Iran, making this an opportune time to enter the export sector.

Key Success Factors for Export Businesses

Mr. Shah highlighted several important factors for achieving success in export business:

  • High sales volume is crucial for long-term success in exports.

  • Timely delivery of goods is one of the most important determinants of success in international trade.

  • Exporters should ensure that their most competitive pricing remains attractive compared to that of other exporters.

  • For exports to countries with which India has Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), obtaining a Preferential Certificate of Origin is essential.

  • The Government of India offers various export promotion schemes that exporters should actively utilize.

  • Up to approximately 80 percent of expenses incurred for participation in international trade exhibitions can be reimbursed under government support schemes.

Mr. Shah also elaborated on potential export opportunities that may emerge following the resolution of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and discussed strategies for Indian exporters to capitalize on these opportunities.

Interactive Question-and-Answer Session

During the interactive session, participants raised various queries and concerns related to import-export operations, international trade procedures, market access, and business challenges. Mr. Shah addressed these questions in detail and provided practical guidance based on his extensive industry experience.

The programme was attended by UCCI Senior Vice President Anshul Mogra, Vice President Kapil Surana, Prakash Chandra Boliya, Dinesh Chandra Jhanwar, Shailesh Jain, Dr. Anshu Kothari, and several other members and entrepreneurs.
