Enthusiastic Chair Yoga Program Organized at Darshan Dental College

Udaipur: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, a grand and enthusiastic Chair Yoga program was organized at Darshan Dental College and Hospital, Loyra, Udaipur. The chief guest of the event, renowned yoga expert Mayank Joshi from Udaipur, shared his experiences and highlighted the importance of Chair Yoga, particularly its benefits for dental professionals.

He explained that dental practitioners often face health issues such as back pain, neck pain, and physical stress due to prolonged periods of working in the same posture. These problems can be effectively reduced through regular yoga practice. Demonstrating various yoga postures and breathing techniques, he encouraged students and faculty members to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

The Principal of the college, Dr. Vikas Poonia, emphasized the significance of yoga, stating that it is not only a means of maintaining physical fitness but also a powerful tool for achieving mental and emotional well-being. He urged all students and staff members to make yoga an integral part of their daily routine.

He further explained that yoga promotes overall health by creating balance and harmony within the body. Through physical postures (asanas), controlled breathing (pranayama), and meditation, individuals can establish a strong connection between the mind and body, resulting in numerous positive and transformative benefits. Regular yoga practice can also assist in managing various chronic oral health conditions and play an important role in reducing patient stress and anxiety during dental treatments. Additionally, yoga helps dental professionals maintain better balance, correct posture, and a stress-free lifestyle.

During the program, Vice Principal Dr. Ravikiran Gowda and Chief Coordinator Dr. Pulkit Chaturvedi motivated students to incorporate yoga into their daily lives and practice it regularly as a key component of a healthy lifestyle.

More than 200 students and faculty members enthusiastically participated in the event and received training in various Chair Yoga techniques and their practical applications.

The program was successfully organized under the guidance and inspiration of the institution’s trustees, Dr. J. K. Tayalia and Mr. B. R. Agrawal. The event proved to be a meaningful initiative toward promoting healthy living, mental well-being, and spreading the message of “One Earth, One Health” among the community.
