Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan: Youth Pledge to Stay Away from Substance Abuse

Udaipur: As part of the Government of India’s nationwide “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” (Drug-Free India Campaign), special awareness programs were organized across Udaipur district to educate young people about the harmful effects of substance abuse.

The campaign was jointly conducted by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment and Arogya Seva Sansthan. Awareness sessions were organized at various educational institutions, including GKS Academy, Venkateshwar College of Nursing, and Gayatri College of Nursing.

The primary objective of the program was to inform youth and future nursing professionals about the adverse consequences of addiction and to prepare them as ambassadors of health awareness within society. During the sessions, keynote speaker Narpat Singh Chauhan addressed students and faculty members, expressing concern over the growing trend of substance abuse among young people.

He stated that addiction is adversely affecting the energy, potential, and future of the youth, while also creating serious social and family-related problems. He urged students to stay away from intoxicants, adopt a healthy lifestyle, and actively spread awareness within their communities.

At the conclusion of the program, all participants took a pledge to lead a drug-free life and encourage those around them to do the same.

The success of the campaign was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Arogya Seva Sansthan and the departmental team. Among those present were Project Manager Narayan Singh, Project Coordinator Yogendra Singh, Ward W. Sudarshan Singh, Sagar Bilochi, and Counselor Rakesh Singh. They conducted counseling sessions and motivated young participants to remain free from substance abuse.

Students and representatives of the participating institutions appreciated the initiative and described it as a highly useful and necessary step toward building a healthier and more aware society.
