Grand Finale of Rajsamand's First-Ever 'Rangnayak–2026' Summer Theatre Workshop

Rajsamand: The month-long summer theatre workshop 'Rangnayak–2026', organized by Team Sanstha, Udaipur, concluded on a grand note at the Vishwa Bharati Society Hall in Kankroli, Rajsamand. On the final day, participants showcased their acting talent through impressive theatrical performances that received enthusiastic appreciation from the audience.

Workshop Director Sunil Tank said that while Rangnayak has been successfully organized in Udaipur for several years, this was the first time the workshop was held in Rajsamand. The initiative aimed to extend professional theatre training opportunities to children and youth from Rajsamand and nearby regions.

The workshop, which ran for nearly a month, trained 76 participants in the Junior Group (7–17 years) and 21 participants in the Senior Group (18 years and above). During the programme, participants received practical training in both the fundamentals and advanced techniques of theatre.

The training began with theatre games and interactive exercises, followed by sessions on acting principles, stage and camera acting, improvisation, body language, voice and speech, facial expressions, emotion building, imagination, and the Navaras (Nine Emotions), providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the performing arts.

As part of the closing ceremony, participants staged two theatrical productions. The Junior Group presented "Aao Badon, Tumhe Sikhaye," a socially relevant play carrying a meaningful message, while the Senior Group performed "Saaya," a psychological drama that earned widespread appreciation from the audience. Both plays were written and directed by Sunil Tank.

The stage design for the productions was created by senior theatre artist Shailendra Sharma, while costumes were designed by veteran theatre professional Rameshwar Gaur. The successful execution of the workshop was supported by Pooja Lodha, Poojal Mandot, Harshil Kavadiya, and Dr. Sonam Jain.

Addressing the closing ceremony, DYSP Shipra Rajawat, the Chief Guest, praised both the workshop and the performances. She said that such creative initiatives play a vital role in enhancing the personality, self-confidence, and communication skills of children and young people. She also emphasized the importance of organizing similar creative programmes on a regular basis in the future.

The event concluded with the distribution of participation certificates to all trainees. Expressing gratitude to the guests, parents, and audience members, Sunil Tank stated that Team Sanstha would continue organizing theatre workshops in Rajsamand and other cities across Rajasthan to promote performing arts and nurture emerging talent.
