Historic Mega Event of 126 Surya Namaskar Cycles Held at Fateh Sagar Lake Promenade

 

Udaipur: A grand and historic free Surya Namaskar Mega Event, featuring 126 Surya Namaskar cycles, was successfully organized at the world-famous Fateh Sagar Lake promenade to commemorate the 12th International Yoga Day 2026.

The event was jointly organized by the Government Model Ayurveda Dispensary, Sindhi Bazar, Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Udaipur, Sukripa Foundation, and Swasthya Setu.

The mega yoga programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 250 yoga practitioners and enthusiasts, ranging from a 7-year-old child yogi to 70-year-old senior yoga instructors, making the event both inspiring and memorable.

The programme was graced by former Additional District Collector (City) War Singh as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished dignitaries included Assistant Director of Ayurveda and Nodal Officer Dr. Bhanu Kumar Jain, Assistant Nodal Officer and Senior Ayurveda Physician Vaidya Shobhalal Audichya, Ayurveda Doctors' Association President Dr. V. Bansiwal, Indian Yoga Association President Suresh Paliwal, Krishna Paliwal of Sukripa Foundation, Mukesh Pathak, State Executive Member of Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Yoga Coordinator Yogi Ashok Jain, and Puran Singh Rathore from Swasthya Setu.

Participants who successfully completed all 126 Surya Namaskar cycles were honoured during the event. Ritu Sukhwal secured the first position, Himaksh Dangi finished second, and Monal Sen claimed the third position. The winners were felicitated with a traditional stole, certificates, and mementoes by the dignitaries.

In recognition of their outstanding contribution to yoga promotion, Yogi Ashok Jain, child yogi Suryaksh Sharma, Shweta Sharma, and Manya Sharma were also honoured on stage with certificates, mementoes, and traditional stoles.

The Surya Namaskar session commenced with a prayer for world peace and universal well-being, led by Yoga Acharya Jignesh Sharma, who also guided the participants through the practice.

The judging panel comprised Ayurveda physician Dr. Sanjay Maheshwari and Yoga Acharya Devaram Rajpurohit.

The event's technical coordination was efficiently managed by Mohit Menaria, Prem Jain, Manohar Singh Rathore, Sharda Jalora, and other volunteers, whose contributions ensured the smooth execution of the programme.

The organizers announced that all participants will receive e-certificates in recognition of their participation.

The historic event received widespread appreciation from the chief guests, yoga enthusiasts, and residents of Udaipur, who praised the initiative for promoting yoga, holistic health, and community wellness while making the celebration of International Yoga Day truly memorable.
