Udaipur: On the occasion of National Doctors' Day, Paras Health Udaipur has partnered with the IHW Council to celebrate Gratitude Week from July 1 to 7, a nationwide initiative dedicated to recognizing the invaluable contributions of doctors and strengthening public trust in healthcare.
The week-long campaign is part of the IHW Council's long-running Gratitude Week Movement, which aims to acknowledge the often unseen dedication, compassion, and responsibility behind every medical decision while fostering stronger relationships between doctors, patients, and society.
As part of the celebrations, Paras Health Udaipur is organizing a series of initiatives within its hospital premises, including Gratitude Walls, Doctor Appreciation Ceremonies, a special online tribute platform, and opportunities for patients, caregivers, hospital staff, and community members to share stories expressing their gratitude toward healthcare professionals. These activities are designed to encourage people across the country to recognize and appreciate the medical fraternity.
The campaign seeks to celebrate not only successful treatments but also the years of education, clinical expertise, empathy, and unwavering commitment that doctors bring to patient care every day. Paras Health believes these qualities deserve greater public recognition, particularly as healthcare systems continue to evolve.
According to the 2026 Edelman Trust and Health Report, doctors today face increasing competition for public trust from social media, family and friends, and artificial intelligence. Another 2026 survey found that 44% of doctors believe patients trust their treatment recommendations less than they did a year ago. Against this backdrop, Paras Health and the IHW Council emphasize the importance of rebuilding trust, understanding, and mutual respect between healthcare professionals and the communities they serve.
Anubhav Sukhwani, Facility Director of Paras Health Udaipur, said, "Doctors dedicate their lives to serving others, often putting the needs of their patients above their own. Gratitude Week is our way of acknowledging this extraordinary commitment while giving patients, families, and society an opportunity to express their appreciation. We are proud to be part of this nationwide movement that celebrates the compassion, courage, and service of our medical community while strengthening the trust that forms the foundation of quality healthcare."
The Gratitude Week initiative was first launched by the IHW Council during the COVID-19 pandemic to honour the exceptional contributions of doctors, nurses, and frontline healthcare professionals. Over the past five years, it has evolved into a nationwide movement, bringing together healthcare institutions, policymakers, medical associations, industry leaders, and citizens through appreciation campaigns, recognition ceremonies, and public engagement initiatives to cultivate a lasting culture of gratitude and trust for India's medical community.
Kamal Narayan Omer, CEO of the IHW Council, said, "Gratitude Week began during the pandemic with the belief that doctors and healthcare professionals deserve society's respect and appreciation not only in times of crisis but every single day for their dedication, service, and humanity. Over the years, this initiative has grown into a nationwide movement aimed at strengthening public respect, trust, and gratitude for the medical profession. Doctors have always enjoyed immense public trust because they stand by us during our most difficult moments. Through our collaboration with Paras Health this year, we hope more people across India will recognize the extraordinary dedication, compassion, and courage behind every doctor's work and help foster a culture where healthcare providers are valued not only for the lives they save but also for their selfless service every day."
From July 1 to 7, Paras Health Udaipur is inviting patients, families, caregivers, and local communities to participate in Gratitude Week by expressing their appreciation for the medical professionals who dedicate their lives to caring for others. More than a celebration of Doctors' Day, the initiative is a call to strengthen empathy, trust, and respect for the healthcare community by recognizing not only clinical outcomes but also the humanity, perseverance, and selfless commitment behind every patient's journey.
