Ghazal Maestro Dr. Devendra Hiran Enthralls Muskaan Club Audience
UDAIPUR, India,Renowned ghazal singer Dr. Devendra Hiran captivated an audience of nearly 300 members of Muskaan Club with an evening of timeless ghazals during the club's quarterly special event held at Inara Hall, Oriental Palace.
Dr. Hiran opened his performance with a unique rendition blending the classic Hothon Se Chhoo Lo Tum with Rajasthan's iconic folk melody Kesariya Balam, showcasing his versatility and musical finesse. He went on to perform celebrated ghazals including Sirf Tasveer, Suna Tha Woh Aayenge, Sarakti Jaye Hai Rukh Se Naqab, Ranjish Hi Sahi, Rafta Rafta, Pyar Ka Pehla Khat, and Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa, earning repeated applause from the audience.
He also delighted listeners by performing several ghazals on popular request, making the evening an interactive musical experience.
The performance was complemented by accomplished accompanists Vijay Kumar Dhandhada on the sarangi and Harshvardhan Dhandhada on the tabla, whose artistry added depth to the concert.
According to Media Coordinator Prof. Vimal Sharma, the programme was presided over by Kaushalya Ji, who recalled the longstanding association between the Gattani and Hiran families. Impressed by Dr. Hiran's performance, she recommended inviting him to perform at the Muskaan Club Foundation Day celebrations. She also felicitated the artists with mementoes in recognition of their outstanding contribution.
The event began with a Ganesh Vandana, followed by an introduction of the artist by K.K. Tripathi. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by M.P. Mathur, followed by the National Anthem and refreshments.
