National Lacrosse Training Camp Concludes; Rajasthan Players Deliver Outstanding Performance

Udaipur: A 15-day National Lacrosse Training Camp and Selection Trials, organized under the aegis of the Lacrosse Association of India at Galgotias University, Greater Noida, concluded successfully. The prestigious camp brought together 64 selected male and female players from across the country.

Among them were 16 players (10 women and 6 men) from the tribal region of Udaipur, Rajasthan, who impressed throughout the camp with their discipline, technical skills, and exceptional performances, bringing pride to the state.

Tauseef Lari, CEO of the Lacrosse Association of India, said that the players received advanced coaching from international Japanese trainers Yukari Yamamoto and Daichi Tanaka. The training focused on modern playing techniques, strategic attack and defense, quick decision-making, goal conversion, physical fitness, self-confidence, and team coordination. A series of technical and practical sessions were conducted to prepare the athletes for international-level competition.

The training camp was successfully coordinated by Camp In-charge Saurav Betal, Local Coordinator Prashant Sharma, Observer Sajjad Khan, Convener Shakeel Khan, and assistant coaches Neeraj Batra (Rajasthan), Francis (Gujarat), and Rajpal Redu (Haryana). Sports psychologist Dr. Shikha Srivastava conducted sessions on mental strength and sports psychology, while Dr. Lata and Dr. Deepak guided the athletes through yoga and meditation for physical and mental well-being. Physiotherapy experts also trained the players in modern injury prevention and recovery techniques.

Based on their performances at the national training camp, selected players will represent India in the upcoming Asia-Pacific Olympic Qualifiers in Australia and the Southeastern Asian Games in Malaysia. This achievement is considered a significant milestone for the growth of lacrosse in India.

Addressing the participants, Ravi Kishan Shukla, Member of Parliament, renowned Bhojpuri film actor, and President of the Lacrosse Association of India, said that lacrosse is rapidly gaining recognition across the world and has a bright future as an Olympic sport. He encouraged the players to continue working hard with discipline and dedication to bring glory to India on the international stage.

The Founder of Galgotias University, Dhruv Galgotia, along with office bearers from various state associations, also congratulated the athletes and wished them success in their future sporting careers.

Upon their return to Udaipur, the players who excelled at the national camp were warmly welcomed and felicitated by Pragya Kevalramani, Divisional Commissioner and Lacrosse Patron, Dr. P. Ramesh, Chairman of Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited (RSMML), senior officials of the corporation, Ashok Parnami, President of the Rajasthan Lacrosse Association, and other association office bearers.

The dignitaries congratulated the players on their achievements and conveyed their best wishes for outstanding performances in the upcoming international tournaments, expressing confidence that they would bring laurels to Udaipur, Rajasthan, and India on the global stage.
