Udaipur, Retired senior agricultural scientists celebrated their 130th bi-monthly fellowship gathering at the MPUAT Guest House, Udaipur, under the chairmanship of Dr. L. S. Jain. The event was marked by devotional music, poetry, cultural performances, and meaningful discussions, reflecting the spirit of lifelong friendship and intellectual engagement.
The programme commenced with an invocation by Dr. Pushpa Gupta, followed by devotional hymns presented by Dr. Shobha Lal Dashora, who sang "Sansar Se Bhagte Rahte Ho," and Dr. K. L. Totawat, who rendered "Maili Chadar Odh Ke Kaise."
The poetry session featured original and thought-provoking compositions. Dr. Vimal Sharma recited a self-composed poem highlighting the importance of environmental conservation, while Mrs. Vandana Gupta presented the poignant poem "Waqt Ki Gardishe." Mrs. Shashikanta Kanthalia deeply moved the audience with her emotional poem, "Pita Kabhi Sevanivrit Nahi Hote" (A Father Never Truly Retires).
Adding a reflective touch to the gathering, Mrs. Shakuntala Dhakad narrated an interesting anecdote on the significance of numbers one to twenty. Dr. L. L. Dhakad delivered an informative talk on preventing age-related neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and emphasized the cognitive benefits of maintaining active conversations and social interaction.
The musical segment featured Dr. Ashok Gupta, who performed the classic song "Ye Dil Mohabbat Ka Mara," while Dr. Pushpa Gupta sang the evergreen melody "Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai." Dr. A. K. Sacheti shared his life experiences, and Dr. P. C. Kanthalia entertained the audience with humorous anecdotes.
The gathering also welcomed new members Mrs. Abhilasha Verma and Dr. Arvind Verma. Members celebrating birthdays and wedding anniversaries during the month were felicitated with traditional tilak and floral garlands amid Vedic chants, with prayers offered for their good health, happiness, and long life.
The programme concluded with a fellowship lunch graciously hosted by Dr. L. S. Jain and his family members, who extended warm hospitality to all attendees.
