Book Meera: One Colour, Many Dimensions Released in Udaipur

Udaipur: The book Meera: One Colour, Many Dimensions, authored by noted writer and researcher Dr. Pushpa Kalal, was released at a special ceremony held at the Rajasthan Sahitya Akademi under the joint aegis of the Rajasthan Sahitya Akademi and the Medtani Meera Sahitya Sansthan. The event brought together eminent literary figures, academicians, and researchers, who described the book as a significant contribution that offers a fresh perspective on the life, philosophy, and legacy of the revered saint-poet Meera Bai.

According to Bhanwarlal Jalaniya, Treasurer of the institute, the ceremony was attended by historian Dr. Shrikrishna Jugnu, Rajasthan Sahitya Akademi Secretary Basant Singh Solanki, senior litterateur Asha Pandey, and retired educationist Dr. Indira Jain, among other distinguished guests.

The book was reviewed by Pramila Sharad Vyas and Dr. Nirmala Sharma, while Dr. Priyanka Bhatt conducted the proceedings.

Speakers noted that the book is the outcome of years of research and presents Meera’s life, Krishna devotion, philosophy, folk culture, social consciousness, and literary contributions in a scholarly yet accessible manner. It also highlights several lesser-explored aspects of Meera’s personality and thought. During the event, Dr. Pushpa Kalal was felicitated for her outstanding contribution to literature and research.
