Two Udaipur Families Continue the Noble Tradition of Eye Donation

Udaipur: Inspired by the ongoing awareness campaign of Shine India Foundation, two bereaved families in the city carried forward the noble tradition of eye donation over the past two days, giving the gift of sight even in moments of profound grief.

On Thursday evening, Uttam Jeet Kaur, a resident of Vallabhbari and mother of Surendra Singh and Harminder Singh, passed away unexpectedly. The family has long been associated with the cause of eye donation. In 2014, her grandson Angad donated his eyes, and in 2019, her husband Amrik Singh's eyes were also donated with the support of the organization. Continuing this inspiring family tradition, the family consented to donate the eyes of the late Uttam Jeet Kaur, ensuring that her legacy of compassion lives on.

In another instance on Friday, Vimal Kumar Jain, father of Alok Jain and Nilesh Jain from the Station area, passed away suddenly. Following his demise, his wife Vimla Jain gave her consent for eye donation. The noble act was successfully carried out with the assistance of the EBSR Kota Chapter.

Notably, just a few months ago, the family's grandson Vaibhav Jain had also donated his eyes through the support of the same organization. By choosing eye donation once again, the Jain family reaffirmed its commitment to giving the gift of vision and inspiring others to embrace this life-changing humanitarian cause.

The Shine India Foundation expressed its gratitude to both families for their exemplary decision, stating that such acts of generosity not only restore sight to the visually impaired but also motivate society to adopt eye donation as a meaningful legacy of service and humanity.
