Udaipur: The forthcoming Chaturmas (Varyayog) in Udaipur will be marked by an atmosphere of spirituality, devotion, and religious discourse with the arrival of Shrutsanvegi Mahashraman Pujya Muni 108 Shri Adityasagar Maharaj and his monastic sangh. The much-awaited Mangal Pravesh (ceremonial entry) will take place on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 7:00 a.m.
Accompanying Muni Adityasagar Maharaj will be Muni 108 Shri Apramitsagar Maharaj, Muni 108 Shri Sahajsagar Maharaj, and Muni 105 Shri Shreyashsagar Maharaj. Throughout the Chaturmas period, devotees will have the opportunity to participate in religious assemblies, discourses, scriptural study, meditation, worship, and various spiritual programmes under the guidance of the revered monks.
Addressing a press conference at Adinath Digambar Jain Temple, Dhol Ki Pati, Ashok Shah, Chairman of the Varyayog Committee, announced that the ceremonial procession will begin from Sub City Centre (Income Tax Office) at 7:00 a.m., proceed via the Krishi Mandi Gate, and culminate at Shri Adinath Digambar Jain Temple, Hiran Magri Sector-11. At 9:00 a.m., a religious discourse and blessing ceremony by Muni Adityasagar Maharaj will be held at Shahi Complex, Gavri Chowk, Sector-11, where a large gathering of devotees is expected.
Shah further informed that the Guru Purnima Mahotsav will be celebrated on July 29, 2026, with a programme beginning at 8:00 a.m., followed by the grand Mangal Kalash Sthapana ceremony at 1:30 p.m. at Fateh School Ground, formally marking the commencement of Chaturmas. Around 6,000 devotees are expected to participate in the celebrations. A special train carrying devotees from Indore is also expected to arrive in Udaipur for the occasion.
During the four-month Chaturmas period, daily religious activities, including discourses, scriptural study, worship, abhishek, meditation, penance, and other spiritual programmes, will be organized, providing devotees with an opportunity to deepen their spiritual practices in the presence of the revered Jain monks.
Paras Chittora, President of the Jain community, appealed to all members of the community and devotees to participate wholeheartedly in the religious programmes and seek spiritual growth through devotion to the Guru, religious observance, and self-realization.
Renowned Scholar, Thinker and Spiritual Orator
Shrutsanvegi Mahashraman Muni 108 Shri Adityasagar Maharaj is a distinguished Digambar Jain monk, renowned for his scholarship, multilingual proficiency, spiritual insight, and inspiring discourses.
Born on May 24, 1986, in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, he completed his MBA before renouncing worldly life. He received Muni Diksha from Acharya 108 Shri Vishuddhasagar Ji Maharaj on November 8, 2011, in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh.
Muni Adityasagar Maharaj is proficient in 16 languages, including Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Prakrit, Kannada, and Tamil. He has authored or compiled more than 250 published and unpublished works on subjects such as spiritual management, ethics, the guru-disciple tradition, and self-reflection. Having composed nearly 50,000 Sanskrit verses, he has made a significant contribution to Jain literature. His profound scholarship, engaging discourses, humble personality, and practical spiritual teachings have earned him immense respect among devotees across the country, particularly among young people.
"Sanatan Dharma Was, Is, and Will Always Be"
Speaking on the occasion, Muni Adityasagar Maharaj said that a true monk is one who remains devoted to knowledge, meditation, and penance. Responding to a question, he remarked that every religion has its own philosophy, but "Sanatan Dharma existed, exists, and will continue to exist."
He also expressed concern over India's education system, stating that the closure of traditional Gurukuls had weakened value-based education. Referring to the growing incidence of student suicides, he said that emotional issues and substance abuse are among the major contributing factors.
The monk announced that a three-day youth and cultural programme will be held from August 14 to 16, featuring Youth Sanskar Camps and seminars. During Chaturmas, several value-based initiatives, including Upanayan Sanskar Camps for children and Couples' Sanskar Camps, will also be organized to help guide young people towards a disciplined and value-oriented life.
Among those present at the press conference were Kamalkant Jain, Mahavir Singhvi, Bhanwar Mundaliya, Rakesh Nagda, Pramod Chaudhary, Suresh Vakharia, and several other members of the Jain community.
