Development Works Begin in Newly Added Municipal Area of Matoon Village
Udaipur: Development work officially commenced in Matoon village, recently incorporated into the Udaipur Municipal Corporation, with the foundation stone being laid for a road and drainage project worth ₹20 lakh by Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena on Saturday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Meena said that this marks the first development project undertaken by the Municipal Corporation in Matoon since the village was brought under the city's municipal limits. He assured residents that more civic infrastructure projects would follow in the coming months.
The MLA explained that while development activities in the village were previously executed by the Gram Panchayat and Panchayat Samiti, responsibility now rests with the Municipal Corporation. He expressed confidence that inclusion in the municipal area would accelerate infrastructure development and improve civic amenities for local residents.
Meena also stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the Rajasthan Government is committed to ensuring balanced development across both urban and rural areas. He emphasized that the government is dedicated to addressing the needs of people at the grassroots level and ensuring that development reaches every section of society.
According to the MLA's media coordinator B.L. Dangi, Matoon is the first village in the Rural Udaipur Assembly constituency, among those recently included within the Municipal Corporation limits, where civic development works have been initiated. He added that, through the continued efforts of MLA Phool Singh Meena and local public representatives, the state government will prioritize development in both Panchayati Raj and municipal areas of the constituency.
Among those present at the event were Ganesh Vyas, Himmat Singh Devda, Shivdan Singh Devda, Bhanwar Devda, Nazar Singh Devda, Ganesh Giri, Vijay Singh Devda, Kishan Das, Motilal Vyas, Rahul Pania, and a large number of local residents.
