University of Kota Signs Three-Year MoU with Shine India Foundation to Promote Organ and Eye Donation Awareness
Kota: In a significant step towards engaging youth in social service and public health awareness, the University of Kota signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shine India Foundation, Kota on Monday. The partnership aims to develop students as Organ and Eye Donation Ambassadors, empowering them to spread awareness about eye donation, organ donation, body donation, blood donation, skin donation, and other health and social welfare initiatives.
The MoU was signed by Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Bhagwati Prasad Saraswat and Dr. Kulwant Gaur, Founder of Shine India Foundation, in the presence of Dr. Saurabh Dalela, Dean of Student Welfare, Dr. Reena Dadhich, Head of the Computer Science Department, and Foundation Secretary Dr. Sangeeta Gaur.
Under the agreement, awareness workshops, seminars, orientation programmes, motivational lectures, and voluntary pledge campaigns will be conducted across all university departments and affiliated colleges. In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, students will receive practical exposure through internships, community engagement, research, documentation, social media awareness campaigns, event management, and rural health outreach, along with certificates upon completion.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Saraswat said the initiative would strengthen students' sense of social responsibility, compassion, and community service. Dr. Sangeeta Gaur added that experienced doctors, social workers, and experts from the Foundation will provide practical training, enabling students to become effective ambassadors for organ and eye donation and inspire more people to support life-saving and humanitarian causes.
The MoU will remain in effect for three years, during which both institutions will jointly organize programmes focused on public health awareness, youth leadership, and community welfare.
