Mahaveer Group Joins 'Hariyalo Rajasthan' Drive, Students Pledge to Nurture Every Sapling into a Tree
Udaipur: Reinforcing its commitment to environmental conservation, Mahaveer Group of Institutions organised a large-scale tree plantation drive under the 'Hariyalo Rajasthan' campaign with the theme 'Green Rajasthan' at its campus in Keer Ki Chowki on the Badgaon-Bhinder Road.
The plantation programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from newly admitted D.El.Ed. trainees, college students, faculty members and staff, who planted saplings of various species and pledged to nurture them until they grow into full-fledged trees.
Addressing the gathering, Director Dr. Ashish Vaya said environmental conservation is the responsibility of every citizen and urged students to become environmentally conscious by planting and protecting more trees.
Dr. Jyoti Wala, Principal of Mahaveer Jain Vidyalaya, described trees as humanity's most valuable natural asset and said conserving them today would ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations.
Dr. Nirmala Purohit, Principal of Mahaveer College, said tree plantation should be viewed not merely as a campaign but as a social responsibility towards nature. She noted that the goal of the Hariyalo Rajasthan initiative could be achieved if every individual planted at least one sapling and cared for it until it matured into a tree.
Participants collectively reaffirmed their commitment with the pledge, "We will plant a sapling, nurture it into a tree, and help realise the dream of a greener Rajasthan."
The programme was attended by Ashok Jain, Neelam Modi, Dr. Bherudas Vaishnav, Deepak Nanoma, Mitesh Kumar Sharma, Roshan Salvi, Sangeeta Paliwal, Krishna Paliwal, Rohit Rao, Bherulal Meghwal, along with faculty members, trainees, students and staff.
The event highlighted the institution's commitment to environmental sustainability while encouraging students to actively contribute to building a greener future.
