Governor Bagde's Initiative to Promote Tribal Heritage Conservation in Collaboration with Australia

Udaipur: On the initiative of Rajasthan Governor Shri Haribhau Bagde, a special collaborative effort will be undertaken with Australia to preserve and promote the state's tribal heritage. As part of this initiative, Governor Bagde has invited an Australian delegation to visit the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC), Udaipur, to explore avenues for cultural cooperation.

The initiative follows a meeting at Raj Bhavan between Governor Bagde and Australian Consul-General Paul Murphy, during which both sides agreed to facilitate exchanges focused on the conservation of the cultural heritage of Australia's Aboriginal communities and Rajasthan's tribal communities.

Dr. Ashwin Dalvi, Director of the West Zone Cultural Centre, said that an Australian delegation is expected to visit the centre in Udaipur in the coming days. In accordance with the Governor's directions, the Centre will prepare a roadmap for future collaborative initiatives aimed at preserving and promoting tribal heritage.

Governor Bagde had previously visited Australia during his tenure as Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. During that visit, he observed and appreciated Australia's achievements in civic sense, road traffic management, education, and agriculture, noting that several of these practices could be beneficial for India.

Building on this perspective, the Australian diplomatic delegation has expressed interest in exploring opportunities for collaboration in Rajasthan. In addition to tribal heritage conservation, both sides will also examine the potential for educational exchange programmes and other cooperative initiatives.
