Sanjay Kumar Paneri Receives Distinguished Honour

Udaipur: Mr. Sanjay Kumar Paneri, Assistant Accounts Officer Grade-I and a person with a severe disability, was conferred a distinguished honour by Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa in recognition of his outstanding and inspiring contributions to democracy, environmental conservation, and social innovation. The award was presented during a function held at Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Government Ayurved College. Member of Parliament Dr. Mannalal Rawat, MLA Tarachand Jain, and Paras Singhvi were also present on the occasion.

Despite being exempt from election duty due to his disability, Mr. Paneri voluntarily served as the Presiding Officer at India’s first Model Accessible Polling Station for Persons with Disabilities. Along with his fellow differently-abled colleagues, he rendered services in six consecutive elections, setting an inspiring example of dedication and public service. Inspired by this model, the Election Commission of India initiated the establishment of Model Accessible Polling Stations in all 4,170 Assembly constituencies across the country.

Mr. Paneri also developed an innovative digital action plan for environmental conservation, which was submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office and received appreciation. In addition, he designed a specially adapted vehicle for persons with disabilities and secured a patent for the innovation, demonstrating a remarkable commitment to self-reliance and technological innovation.
