Jain Monks Receive Grand Chaturmas Welcome in Udaipur

UDAIPUR,A devotional atmosphere prevailed at the Jain pilgrimage complex in Hiran Magri Sector 4 on Sunday as Muniraj Navyaprasannakirtisagar Maharaj, Mahashatavdhani Muniraj Divyaprasannakirtisagar Maharaj, Sadhvi Jinrasa Shri Ji, Sadhvi Devardhiratna Shri Ji, and the accompanying Jain monastic order made their ceremonial Chaturmas entry.

The event was attended by social worker and industrialist Mangilal Lunawat, the chief patron of this year's Chaturmas, as the chief guest.

According to Sushil Banthia, president of the Shri Jain Shwetambar Murtipujak Jinalaya Committee, a large number of devotees participated in the ceremonial procession. The monks were welcomed with devotional songs, religious flags and chants, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. Devotees sought blessings from the monks and pledged to participate in regular discourses, religious observances and spiritual activities throughout the four-month Chaturmas period.

Addressing the religious assembly, the Jain monks described Chaturmas as an ideal time for self-purification, self-discipline, penance, scriptural study and service, urging devotees to enrich their lives through religious practice and spiritual reflection.

The programme was attended by office-bearers of the Jain community, committee members and a large gathering of devotees. Social worker Sunil Lunawat and Kuldeep Nahar, General Secretary of the Mahasabha, were also present.

Students of the community's religious school presented a short play highlighting the significance of Chaturmas. The Kamli Boharana ritual was sponsored by the Sushil Banthia family, while Sunil Lunawat performed the ceremonial Guru Pujan. The Swamivatsalya community meal was sponsored by the families of Chetanlal Doshi and Anil Doshi.
