###GMCH :Students Lead Organ Donation Awareness Rally
International Brain Day event urges public to pledge organs as Geetanjali University promotes life-saving awareness in Udaipur.
UDAIPUR Students of Geetanjali University organized an organ donation awareness rally in Udaipur on Tuesday to mark International Brain Day and Organ Donation Awareness Month, urging citizens to pledge their organs and help save lives.
The rally brought together students, faculty members and healthcare professionals, who marched through the city carrying placards bearing messages such as "Organ Donation – The Greatest Gift of Life" and "One Donor Can Save Many Lives." Participants interacted with residents and emphasized the importance of organ donation in giving a second chance at life to patients suffering from end-stage organ failure.
Organizers said the campaign aimed to raise public awareness, dispel misconceptions surrounding organ donation and encourage more people to register as organ donors.
Addressing participants, medical experts highlighted that a single organ donor can save multiple lives and stressed the need for greater community participation to bridge the gap between the demand for and availability of transplantable organs.
The rally was attended by Dr. Jitendra Hirani, DMS, Geetanjali Medical College & Hospital (GMCH); Dr. Karuna Sharma, Nodal Officer for Organ Transplantation; and Rajesh Mehta, Organ Transplant Coordinator, GMCH. They commended the students' initiative and said youth-led awareness campaigns play a vital role in promoting organ donation and building public confidence in the transplantation process.
The event concluded with participants taking a pledge to continue spreading awareness about organ donation and motivating others to support the life-saving cause.
