Pulaksagarji Maharaj to Foster Unity and Values During Bhilwara Chaturmas
Bhilwara: Revered Jain saint Manojnyacharya Rashtrasant Pulaksagarji Maharaj said his upcoming Chaturmas in Bhilwara will focus on strengthening human relationships, promoting India's cultural heritage, and addressing issues concerning the nation, society, and individuals. Speaking at a media interaction held at the RSWM campus in Mandpiya, he said, “Just as Bhilwara is known as the textile city where threads are woven together, I will strive to weave together the hearts of people.”
Pulaksagarji Maharaj said Bhilwara was chosen for Chaturmas because of its communal harmony, humanity, and attentive listeners. He emphasized that true transformation begins with self-awareness, adding that even God cannot change a person unless one is willing to change. The four-month spiritual retreat will inspire people to reflect on values, strengthen families, and contribute to nation-building.
He announced that the Mangal Pravesh will take place on July 25, followed by the Guru Gunanuvad Programme on August 1 and the Kalash Sthapana on August 2. A Gyan Ganga Mahotsav will be organized from August 15 to 30, while daily discourses will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Surya Mahal, Shastri Nagar.
Responding to questions on current affairs, Pulaksagarji Maharaj said that young people possess energy but require proper direction. He stressed that meaningful reforms come from improving systems rather than merely demanding resignations. He also remarked that renunciation has no fixed age, as spiritual awakening arises naturally, and described Santhara as a voluntary spiritual practice undertaken with peace and detachment, rather than an act of suicide.
Chaturmas Convener Manish Shah said a grand ceremonial welcome will be accorded to the saint on July 25, with a magnificent procession featuring six monks, three Kshullikas, floral showers by drones, traditional bands, devotional tableaux, and thousands of devotees from across the country. Pulaksagarji Maharaj continued his journey towards Bhilwara on Thursday, accompanied by more than 100 young volunteers and devotees throughout the pilgrimage route.
