Jain Monks to Enter Udaipur for Chaturmas on July 26
Udaipur, : A grand Chaturmas entry ceremony for Upadhyay Ramesh Muni Maharaj, Pravartak Dr. Rajendra Muni Maharaj, Dr. Surendra Muni Maharaj, and Deepesh Muni Maharaj will be held in Udaipur on Sunday, July 26, under the auspices of the Shri Vardhman Sthanakwasi Jain Shravak Sangh.
The monks, disciples of Gurudev Pushkar Devendra Muni, will arrive at Devendra Dham on Bhuvana Road following a ceremonial procession. Their visit marks their return to Udaipur after several years, generating enthusiasm among members of the Jain community.
Sangh president Advocate Roshanlal Jain said the procession will begin at 8 a.m. from the residence of former Mayor Rajni Dangi and Virendra Dangi at Flora Complex. The procession will pass through various parts of the city before reaching Devendra Dham.
Women carrying ceremonial mangal kalash, devotees carrying religious flags and banners, and community members chanting the name of Lord Mahavir are expected to participate in large numbers.
According to the organisers, devotees and community representatives from Jodhpur, Pali, Delhi, Surat, and several other cities are expected to attend the event. Members of the city's Jain community, women's groups and youth organisations are participating in the preparations.
Social worker Magilal Lunawat will be the chief guest at the Chaturmas entry ceremony. Prashant Jain, president of Navkar Teerth, Delhi, and office-bearers of the Jain Conference are also expected to attend.
The organisers have invited members of the public to participate in the ceremony and seek spiritual blessings.
Upadhyay Ramesh Muni Maharaj and Pravartak Dr. Rajendra Muni Maharaj have each spent more than six decades in monastic life and have undertaken extensive religious journeys from Jammu to Chennai, conducting numerous Chaturmas observances across the country. Their spiritual discourses have benefited thousands of devotees over the years.
During the Chaturmas period, daily religious discourses will be held at 9 a.m. at Devendra Dham.
