Mumbai: Zee Cinema will host the World Television Premiere of Azaad on July 26th at 9 PM, bringing this action-drama to television audiences for the very first time. Set against the backdrop of 1920s India, the film follows Govind, a young stable boy whose extraordinary bond with a spirited horse named Azaad changes the course of his life. What starts as a simple dream of riding freely grows into something far greater, as the tightening grip of British oppression and the stirrings of rebellion pull him into a fight much bigger than himself.
Ajay Devgn brings gravitas and quiet intensity to the role of Vikram Singh, a fearless rebel leader whose courage and deep bond with Azaad form the emotional core of the film. His commanding screen presence makes the character a powerful guiding force in Govind’s journey
Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, known for acclaimed films such as Kai Po Che! and Rock On!!, Azaad marked the Bollywood debuts of Aaman Devgan and Rasha Thadani, who play Govind and Janaki, respectively. Diana Penty rounds out a cast that blends fresh talent with seasoned screen presence. The film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Pragya Kapoor under the banners of RSVP Movies and Guy In The Sky Pictures.
The film's soundtrack also found a life of its own, with the track "Uyi Amma" turning into a runaway sensation, racking up widespread plays and reels across various platforms and helping keep Azaad in conversation well after its theatrical run.
