Rajasthan Vidyapeeth Holds Research Board and Academic Council Meetings
All Three Campuses to Become Plastic-Free, Says Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot
Udaipur: Rajasthan Vidyapeeth's Research Board and Academic Council meetings were held on Saturday at the Vice-Chancellor's Secretariat Auditorium in Pratap Nagar under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot. Several important proposals were unanimously approved during the meetings.
At the outset, the minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously confirmed. Addressing the members, Prof. Sarangdevot said that Rajasthan Vidyapeeth will complete 100 years in 2037, and the institution has set a target of enrolling 30,000 students by its centenary year. He emphasized that a comprehensive roadmap will be prepared well in advance to achieve this vision.
Prof. Sarangdevot also announced that all three campuses of the university will be developed as green and plastic-free campuses, with a complete ban on the use of plastic in any form.
The Academic Council approved the introduction of new academic programs, diploma courses, and certificate courses in various disciplines, including Homeopathy, Yoga, D. Pharma, Education, Management Studies, Information Technology (IT), and several other departments.
He called for the preparation of annual academic, examination, admission, and research calendars from the very beginning of the new academic session to ensure greater convenience for students. Stressing the importance of research and publications, Prof. Sarangdevot also emphasized the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into academic curricula.
The meeting also deliberated in detail on the suggestions and recommendations submitted by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and discussed the implementation of new academic programs. Members reviewed the curriculum framework under the National Education Policy (NEP) across various faculties and addressed the challenges being faced in its implementation.
The meeting was attended by Registrar Dr. Tarun Shrimali, Controller of Examinations Prof. Paras Jain, Prof. G.M. Mehta, along with deans, directors, and heads of various departments.
