CURTAIN RAISER FOR KOTA GANDIV MARATHON 1.0 AT KOTA MILITARY STATION
Jaipur, Kota Military Station organised the Curtain Raiser for Kota Gandiv Marathon 1.0 at Shri Umed Club, Kota on 30 July 2026 as a prelude to the flagship marathon scheduled on 27 September 2026. The marathon is being organised as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Gandiv Division and is expected to witness participation of over 2000 runners, including personnel from the Armed Forces, civil administration, educational institutions, corporate organisations, running clubs and citizens of Kota.
The event featured the unveiling of the official concept video of the marathon, showcasing the rich legacy of Gandiv Division, the spirit of Military-Civil Fusion and the enduring partnership between the Indian Army and the people of Kota over the past five decades.
The General Officer Commanding, Gandiv Division, attended the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted the significance of the Golden Jubilee of Gandiv Division and the role of Military-Civil Fusion in strengthening national unity and social cohesion. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Kota for their unwavering support, trust and affection towards the Indian Army over the last 50 years, describing the city as an integral partner in the Division’s journey and achievements. He also formally declared the opening of registrations for Kota Gandiv Marathon 1.0, inviting citizens from all walks of life to participate in the landmark event.
Kota Gandiv Marathon 1.0 aims to promote fitness, camaraderie, national integration and the enduring partnership between the Indian Army and the civil administration. With multiple categories catering to participants across diverse age groups and participation expected from leading runners and fitness enthusiasts across the region, the marathon is poised to emerge as one of Rajasthan’s premier community sporting events.
The Curtain Raiser concluded with an interactive session attended by Army personnel, civil dignitaries, representatives of running clubs and members of media. The event reaffirmed the collective commitment of all stakeholders towards making Kota Gandiv Marathon 1.0 a fitting tribute to the Golden Jubilee of Gandiv Division and a celebration of unity, fitness and Military-Civil Fusion.
