Vigyan Bharati Organises Vedic Tree Plantation Drive to Promote Environmental Conservation
Udaipur: Vigyan Bharati’s Udaipur Unit, Aravali Vigyan Samiti, organised a tree plantation and environmental awareness programme at Government Senior Secondary School, Tilakheda, under the National Environment and Ecology Development (NEED) Mission and the Net Zero Mission for Viksit Bharat 2047. The initiative aimed to promote biodiversity, reduce carbon emissions, and encourage public participation in environmental conservation.
The programme began with a welcome by Principal Santosh Vyas, followed by the plantation of fruit-bearing and shade-giving trees, including mango, neem, amla, guava, jamun, pomegranate, and champa, accompanied by Vedic chants. Participants pledged to protect and nurture the saplings. Dr. Kamal Singh, State Coordinator of Vigyan Bharati’s One Health Mission, highlighted the contributions of scientist Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray and stressed the importance of scientific thinking. Dr. Lokesh Kumar Agrawal, President of Vigyan Bharati’s Udaipur Unit, urged students to make tree conservation a lifelong commitment. University academicians, teachers, students, and Vigyan Bharati members participated enthusiastically, collectively pledging to promote sustainable lifestyles and environmental stewardship.
