###Hindustan Zinc Inaugurates Rural Development Projects
CSR initiatives worth ₹21 million strengthen infrastructure and education in Kantharia Panchayat.
CHITTORGARH, India, Hindustan Zinc Limited has inaugurated a series of community development projects in Kantharia Panchayat under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, investing approximately ₹21 million (₹2.10 crore) to improve rural infrastructure, education and public amenities.
The projects were inaugurated in the presence of Arjun Jingar, MLA from Kapasan, who praised the company's continued efforts to enhance basic infrastructure, educational facilities and quality of life in rural communities. He said Hindustan Zinc's contribution serves as a model for sustainable rural development and expressed confidence that the company would continue supporting the region's progress.
Four major community projects were dedicated to the public, including the construction of a 500-meter cement concrete road in Rupakhedi, a 1,000-meter cement concrete road in Kantharia, two new classrooms at the Government Senior Secondary School in Kantharia, and the development of the Government Primary School at Sagwadiya into a model school. The foundation stone was also laid for a 4,000-square-foot community hall in Kantharia.
At the Government Primary School in Sagwadiya, the company constructed two classrooms, an administrative office, a kitchen for the midday meal program, separate toilets for boys and girls, and a water storage tank. The upgraded facilities are expected to provide students with a safer and more conducive learning environment.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by MLA Arjun Lal Jingar, Kaluram Jat, Rakesh Ladda, Pushpendra Meena, Pyro Head at the Chanderiya Smelting Complex, Kamakhya Singh, Head of Civil, G. Mallesham, Head of Security, Sundar Raj, Head of CSR, along with panchayat representatives, school management committee members, local residents and company officials.
Speakers at the event said the projects would significantly improve educational infrastructure and road connectivity in the area. They described the collaboration between the local community, the panchayat and Hindustan Zinc as an example of effective rural development through public-private partnership.
Hindustan Zinc continues to invest in education, healthcare, infrastructure, livelihood development and community welfare as part of its CSR initiatives. The company said its long-term objective is to work with local communities to build self-reliant, resilient and prosperous villages while creating sustainable social impact across the region.
