Deputy Chief Minister Inaugurates Madam Praveenlata Sharma Block AYUSH Hospital in Padampur

Sri Ganganagar: Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and AYUSH Minister Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa inaugurated the Madam Praveenlata Sharma Block AYUSH Hospital in Padampur by unveiling the foundation plaque and cutting the ceremonial ribbon. Constructed at a cost of approximately ₹1.25 crore, the hospital was built to strengthen AYUSH healthcare services in the region. The inauguration ceremony was attended by public representatives, social workers, medical professionals, educationists, dignitaries, and a large number of local residents.

The hospital has been established by social worker Ashok Kumar Sharma in memory of his late wife, Mrs. Praveenlata Sharma, with the objective of serving the community. Speakers at the event described the initiative as an inspiring example of service, compassion, and social commitment.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bairwa said the Rajasthan Government is continuously working to strengthen the AYUSH healthcare system. He highlighted the growing importance of Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy in promoting preventive healthcare and overall well-being. He added that institutions created with community support play a vital role in expanding access to quality healthcare services and strengthening public welfare.

The Deputy Chief Minister appreciated Ashok Kumar Sharma and his family for dedicating the hospital to public service in memory of his wife, calling it a meaningful and inspiring tribute. He expressed confidence that the hospital would provide quality AYUSH healthcare to thousands of residents in Padampur and surrounding rural areas.

Former Minister Surendra Pal Singh TT and other speakers described the hospital as a landmark achievement for the region, noting that it would significantly improve access to affordable and quality healthcare at the local level.

During the programme, SS Adarsh School and Mary Heart School jointly contributed ₹31,000 towards the hospital and announced an annual contribution of ₹11,000 to support its healthcare and community welfare initiatives. SS Adarsh School Director Om Prakash Kalia and Ashok Kalia felicitated Dr. Bairwa by presenting him with a memento, while guests were also welcomed with bouquets and traditional turbans.

Attendees later toured the hospital premises and reviewed its facilities. Speakers expressed confidence that the modern AYUSH hospital would not only provide accessible and high-quality healthcare but also strengthen public trust in traditional systems of medicine. The event was also attended by Deputy Secretary Gopal Parihar, Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Subhash Kumar, Pradeep Dherad, Deputy Director of the Ayurveda Department Dr. Charanjeet Singh, and other officials.
