Shilp Summer Samvad Inaugurated in Udaipur

Udaipur: The Shilp Summer Samvad was inaugurated on Sunday at Shilpgram, Udaipur, as part of the celebrations marking the 450th anniversary of the Battle of Haldighati. The event is being jointly organised by the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC), Udaipur, and Creative Circle, Udaipur.

The inaugural ceremony began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by WZCC Director Dr. Ashwin M. Dalvi, architect Sunil Laddha, sculptor Hemant Joshi, and Deputy Director (Programmes) Pawan Amarawat.

Speaking on the occasion, WZCC Director Dr. Ashwin M. Dalvi said that the initiative aims to bring the historical scenes and stories of Haldighati to life through the medium of art and sculpture. He said that the general public of Udaipur would also be encouraged to participate in the initiative.

This will be a historic step that will give Udaipur a new identity on the world map,” Dr. Dalvi said. He added that the initiative was launched on World Tribal Day, and expressed confidence that Creative Circle would bring innovative and creative ideas to the project.

The programme was hosted by Rajat Meghnani (Kahanivala).

The event was attended by Hemant Mehta; Durgesh Chandwani, Assistant Director (Finance & Accounts); sculptor Hemant Joshi; architect and sketch artist Sunil Laddha; Kamlesh Sharma, Additional Director, Department of Information and Public Relations and wildlife photographer; social media influencer Sandeep Rathore; painter Rahul Mali; Nilofar Munir, art teacher at Vidya Bhawan; Sunil Tank, theatre artist and Secretary of Team Natya Sanstha; Vinay Dave, teacher and environmentalist; and architect Priyanka Kothari, among others.

Through Shilp Summer Samvad, artists, architects, sculptors, educators, environmentalists and creative professionals will come together to explore artistic interpretations of the historical legacy of Haldighati and create a distinctive cultural experience for Udaipur.
