Maharana Mewar Public School Celebrates Scientific Achievement of Alumnus
Former student Dr Palash Kumawat, currently pursuing research in Germany, felicitated
Udaipur: Maharana Mewar Public School, City Palace, Udaipur, organised a special ceremony on August 10 to honour the remarkable scientific achievements of its alumnus Dr Palash Kumawat, a member of the school’s 2016 batch. The event was graced by Shrimati Nivritti Kumari Mewar.
Dr Kumawat is currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at MARUM, University of Bremen, Germany. His research focuses on advanced interdisciplinary fields including fluid-rock interactions, marine geochemistry and subseafloor habitability. His work explores geochemical processes occurring in the deep ocean, the possibility of life surviving in extreme environments, and important scientific questions related to the search for life on Mars and other planets.
Shrimati Mewar congratulated Dr Kumawat on his achievements, describing them as a matter of pride for the school and the entire Mewar region. She particularly appreciated the faith, support, sacrifice and dedication of his parents behind his success.
Dr Kumawat expressed gratitude to Dr Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, President and Managing Trustee of Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation, and credited the guidance of his teachers and the scientific outlook nurtured at the school as important foundations of his career.
Addressing students, he encouraged them to remain curious, ask questions, keep learning continuously and have confidence in their abilities. He also spoke about the growing water footprint of artificial intelligence, stressing the responsible use of technology and the need to conserve natural resources.
Honorary Director Satish Kumar Sharma congratulated Dr Kumawat and said that the national and international achievements of the school’s alumni are a source of pride for the institution and an inspiration for current students.
The ceremony celebrated not only the achievements of a promising scientist but also the strong, value-based bond between the school and its alumni.
