Arrest Made in 21 Lakh Fraud Case Involving Hajj and Umrah Pilgrimages

*Kota,  With the assistance of Cyber Cell Head Constable Ajay Singh and Constable Ashok Singh, a man who had been absconding for five years was arrested for committing a fraud of ₹21 lakh under the pretext of organizing Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages. 

City SP Dr. Amrita Duhan stated that a special campaign is being conducted to arrest habitual offenders, wanted criminals, and those with outstanding warrants. Under the direction of Additional Police Superintendent Dilip Kumar Saini, the Cyber Cell Kota City and AGTF jointly apprehended the wanted fugitive, Zamaruddin alias Mohammad Zamaruddin, from Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh).

**Incident Overview:**

On April 28, 2019, Abdul Farooq, a resident of Mahatma Gandhi Colony Mala Phatak, Kota, filed a written complaint stating that he has been organizing Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages under the name of Yadgar Tour and Travels since January 5, 2017. Zamaruddin was responsible for taking care of all arrangements, including travel, food, accommodation, and return for pilgrims. For the 2019 Hajj pilgrimage, Abdul Farooq had given ₹21,10,000 to Zamaruddin for 12 people. Despite completing all formalities a year in advance, Zamaruddin did not respond to calls as the pilgrimage date approached and absconded with the entire amount, committing fraud and theft.

**Arrest Details:**

The Cyber Cell team, including Head Constable Ajay Singh, Suresh Kumar, Constable Indra Singh, Ashok Singh, and Sunil, played a crucial role in the operation. The AGTF team included Head Constable Surendra Singh and Constables Rohitash Singh and Surendra.

Special recognition was given to Head Constable Ajay Singh and Constable Ashok Singh for their significant roles in the arrest.
