Jain Monk Sudhaye Maharaj's Final Journey to the Heavenly Abode

Bhilwara:Tonight, at 10:27 PM, Monk Sudhaye Sagar attained Samadhi at the Housing Board Suparshwanath Digambar Jain Temple. Hailing from R.K. Colony, his mundane life was led by Ramesh Sethi, and he received his initiation from Acharya Shri Sundarsagar Ji. In his final moments, he embraced the practice of 'Yam Sallekhana', also known as voluntary fasting until death, and with a spirit of humility, he sought forgiveness from all beings, along with endeavors to mend his soul.

The chairman of the committee, Rakesh Patni, mentioned that the ceremonial procession for Monk's heavenly journey witnessed the presence of thousands of devotees, accompanied by bands and music, starting from the Housing Board's Suparshwanath Temple to Kavan Kheda. The rituals included recitation of scriptures and hymns under the guidance of Acharya Sundarsagar Ji.

During the occasion, Acharya Shri emphasized that embracing Sallekhana, a practice observed nearing death, is a significant Jain tradition. When individuals perceive proximity to death, they renounce food and drink, termed as Sallekhana. According to Digambar Jain scriptures, weakening the external and internal passions while fostering humility is the essence of Sallekhana. If there is a quintessence of life and fruit of austerity, it is the practice of Sallekhana prior to Samadhi. The congregation was conducted by Pandit Paras Jain.

Media coordinator, Bhag Chand Patni, informed that daily programs at the temple include morning rituals at 6:30 AM, regular discourse by Acharya Shri at 8:30 AM, midday study and philosophical discussions at 3:00 PM, and evening devotional ceremonies and Guru devotion activities at 6:30 PM.
