###Multiple National Awards for MEAI Udaipur Chapter

Udaipur, The Udaipur Chapter of the Mining Engineers’ Association of India (MEAI) has once again brought laurels to Rajasthan by receiving multiple national-level awards during the 52nd Annual General Meeting of MEAI’s National Executive Committee. The event was hosted by the Bhubaneswar Chapter (Odisha) and was accompanied by a national seminar.

For the year 2024–2025, various chapters and members were honored by the National Executive for their exceptional contributions. The Udaipur Chapter was conferred with two prestigious national awards — “Best Chapter Award 2024” and “Best Student Chapter Award 2024” — in recognition of its outstanding performance and initiatives. This marks the second consecutive year that Udaipur has received the Best Chapter Award, having previously earned the same in 2010–11, 2013–14, 2017–18, 2018–19, and 2022–23.

Adding to this achievement, K.H.V. Paliwal, retired Director (Mining Operations), Hindustan Zinc Ltd., was bestowed with MEAI’s highest honor — the “Lifetime Achievement Award” — for his significant and sustained contributions to the mining and mineral industry. Remarkably, this award has now gone to the Udaipur Chapter for three consecutive years, following similar honors to Arun Kumar Kothari and Dr. S.S. Rathore in earlier years.

In individual recognitions, Praveen Sharma (President, MEAI-Udaipur), Asif M. Ansari (Secretary, MEAI-Udaipur), Dr. S.K. Vashishtha (National Council Member, MEAI), and Dr. Hitanshu Kaushal (Joint Secretary, MEAI-Udaipur) received the “Service Excellence Award” for their continued dedication. Notably, Secretary Asif M. Ansari has now received this award for the third consecutive year.

Additionally, Asif M. Ansari was honored with the “MEAI Life Institutional Membership Development Award 2024”, while Dr. S.K. Vashishtha received the “MEAI Life Membership Development Award 2024.”

The team of Asif M. Ansari and Dr. Hitanshu Kaushal also emerged as winners of the “MEAI National Quiz 2024,” with the duo, along with A.S. Siddiqui, Mining Engineer from Chittorgarh and MEAI Udaipur member, also recognized among the Top 10 in the Audience Round of the quiz.

For the MEAI Best Student Award 2024, Saurabh Kumawat and Muskan Solanki, final-year members of the CTAE College Student Chapter, were nominated for their commendable academic and professional pursuits.

This year’s accomplishments mirror last year’s success, where the Udaipur Chapter received the Best Chapter Award, Service Excellence Awards for the President and Secretary, and a Lifetime Achievement Award for one of its distinguished members.
