Hindustan Zinc Initiates Farmer Training Program at Debari

Hindustan Zinc has inaugurated a farmer training program at the Chief Executive Officer Extension Institute (CEOEI) near the Debari Zinc Smelter. The chief guests for the program were Mr. S.P. Trivedi, Additional Director of the Animal Husbandry Department, Anupam Nidhi, Head CSR of Hindustan Zinc, and Manas Tyagi, Director of CSR at Zinc Smelter Debari. The program received active support from Dr. Santosh Bansal, BayF Trainer at the center, Surendra Vardiya, CSR team Zinc Smelter Debari, and the Solution Project Cluster team.

Dr. Trivedi provided information to 46 farmers associated with Ghatawali Mataji FPO, operated by Goyam Dairy, about current schemes related to animal husbandry, government projects, and initiatives. Dr. Bansal addressed farmers on topics such as clean milk production, calf and livestock management, and worm infestation. Vardiya acquainted the farmers with the concept of CEOEIs, citing the example of the Goyam Dairy being established as a model dairy farm to provide optimal training to farmers. Manas Tyagi informed the farmers about the efforts and achievements being made by Hindustan Zinc for the community, especially highlighting the FPO's turnover of over 1.5 crore rupees and initiatives for the community.

In the presence of the guests, training modules were launched, providing trained farmers with information on the types of vaccines, their nutrition and medicinal needs, and best practices for livestock management and clean milk production. Aruna Chita, Head CSR at Debari Zinc Smelter, expressed gratitude at the conclusion of the program. The event aimed to empower farmers with knowledge and skills for efficient animal husbandry, ultimately contributing to their economic well-being.
