Protest Against Airtel Tower Installation in Green Belt Area

Kota, A protest erupted in Ward No. 25 of Bhimganj Mandi police station area in Kota North, where residents strongly opposed the installation of a mobile tower by Airtel in the green belt area of Shmashan Road, Sanjay Nagar. The company has reportedly been digging a foundation for the tower in the middle of the green belt for the past two days.

Due to continuous protests from the locals, the work was halted today by the tower installation team.

Congress Ward Councillor Faizal Baig (Koki) of Ward 25 informed that the Shmashan Road, which lies in a densely populated area near the station, had been beautified with lakhs of rupees worth of plantation as part of a green belt development project. He emphasized that the area’s green status and population density make it unsuitable for mobile tower installation.

Councillor Faizal Baig warned that if work resumes, a large-scale protest will be held along with local residents at the Collector's office and the Bhimganj Mandi police station.
