Dr. Rawat stated that road blockages were causing great inconvenience to the public and emphasized that the work must be completed on priority. Local residents had earlier raised the issue with him. Despite prior instructions, officials had delayed progress, prompting his warning on Sunday.
According to the Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department (National Highways Circle), Kherwada recorded nearly 156 mm of rainfall in a single day, which damaged parts of the highway. Temporary repairs have already been carried out, restoring traffic movement. The Executive Engineer and Assistant Engineer inspected the damaged portions and prepared a cost estimate, which has been sent to the Regional Office, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Jaipur for approval. The officials assured that permanent repair work will commence shortly.
